Henri Eugène Augustin Le Sidaner. II

It's a gloomy, cold January day and  my thoughts are of spring, warm sunny days and eating al fresco.  My blogging life at present is sporadic to say the least, I have a few projects on at the moment which are keeping me occupied, including, learning how to use the sewing machine I have recently acquired. Sewing is not one of my strong points and I have never used a sewing machine in my life, I have thoughts of making all sorts of wonderful things but at the moment I am finding it rather challenging, to say the least, thank God for u tube tutorials!  On top of that I am also trying to teach myself photoshop, with the help of a few manuals, Hmm! Last but not least I am doing the research for a novel, this is proving the easiest and most enjoyable as it's mainly reading books and scribbling notes down. I am trying to fit this all in around daily life, there just is not enough time in the day!

I leave you with some more art from Henri Le Sidaner, this time summery scenes...

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

  2. Beautiful paintings and a novel in the pipeline, how exciting! Don't fret about the sewing machine, it's easy once you get going. What are you trying to sew? If you need help, drop me a line. :)

  7. What gorgeous paintings! Reminds me of visiting the Met in NYC which I need to do on a visit during these cold months. Love to spend the day in there and just walk around with no worries about time. Have a great week!! :))

  8. Hello Dash

Thank you for these uplifting images - the artist has a great understanding of light and shadow.
Good luck with sewing, like you, I have not used a sewing machine with any success, yet I adore hand sewing with silks, linen and luxury fabrics.

  10. So lovely & modern for being painted C 1912! I love the paper lanterns and the white garden images!! Thank you for posting Dash.

Good luck with the sewing machine. I would recommend having someone show you the fundamentals before you get too frustrated with it. My mother was a complete saint & patiently taught my sister and me.

  11. Oooh, he really had a way with capturing light in fading light, didn't he?

Good luck with the sewing. It's one of those things that looks easy until you try it, and then are shocked to discover how much skill is involved. What did we do before youtube videos?
